Who is it for?
This course is for anyone that wants to learn the basics of men’s hair cutting techniques or that wants to advance their careers to the next level. No prior knowledge or experience required for the beginner course.
What will I be learning?
The beginner course will teach you everything you need to know from basic scissor techniques, how to fade, how to trim beards, how to use a straight razor, how to handle clients and much more!
The advanced course will cover advanced scissor, clipper and styling techniques. As well as an in depth look into high level customer service, customer acquisition and customer retention.
Who is the teacher?
My name is Paul Doyle! I am a barber in Montréal, Qc since 2016. I have worked in an urban barbershop for multiple years where I have won my first 2 awards in Toronto after only 2 years working professionally. I am now managing a luxury barbershop in the Old Port.
Having worked in both luxury and urban settings, I have learned how to do any style (including braiding), how to serve every type of client and how to perform a high level service. My passion for teaching and for sharing my knowledge of barbering has led me here: my own barber academy!
My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment where students can develop their skills. build their confidence and reach their potential with the barber industry.
What’s included in the course?
You will have access to the Heartbeat app where you will find the notes on each class as well as being a resource to receive feedback, even after the course is done. You will have the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience directly inside a barbershop, where you will see real world practices.

What will I need?
The most important thing you will need is your commitment and dedication to the program. How much effort and work you put in will give you the results that you want. Other than that, you will need to bring your own tools (a list of tools to purchase will be provided if you don’t already have your own) and your own models to practice on.

What will I get out of this course?
You will have a deep understanding on how to cut men’s hair and perform any barber service, you will receive a certificate of completion and lifetime access to Heartbeat. After this course, you will have a small client list to get you started on top of all the knowledge and practical experience need to be successful.
Where are the classes?
The classes will be held at Hamada Salon in the Old Port of Montreal, 264 St Paul E st.
How much are the courses?
The beginner group classes are 2000$ and 3000$ for private classes.
